"Here is my review of the Kiss Me Gift Pack:

Body Stick: Like a giant tube of chapstick, the body stick is semi-solid and can be pushed up the tube as needed. It is 100% natural coconut oil in its solid state. You gently rub it onto dry areas of your body, such as heels and elbows, and then massage it into the skin. There is no oily residue and it really works!

Body Lotion: This lotion can be used all over the body, but I am currently enjoying it for my hands. After doing dishes or working in my flowerbeds my hands often feel a bit cracked and dry. Just a tiny bit of this lotion is all that is needed to soften them up, and the light scent is so relaxing I can't wait to use it. I also feel safe giving some to my 2 year old when he asks to rub it, rub it like mommy. I keep the lotion at my desk and find myself using it a couple times a day, which is rare for a girl who hardly ever used lotion before!

Candy. Fudge. Soaps: I wanted to eat them. I still want to eat them. They look like fancy chunks of fudge and their tantalizing scents are tempting. But, the little gift tag attached warns that they don't taste as good as they clean. And, they clean so well that I've chosen to accept that statement. I'm using the chocolate mint swirl soap in my bathroom. I can't get enough of the scent and I always feel squeaky clean after my shower!

Basa Body products make amazing Mother's Day gifts! I felt so special opening my beautiful package and the amazing mom in your life is sure to feel pampered too!"

“I recently found your wonderful line of products through my friends Jyl and Carissa at Mom It Forward. I am thrilled to be able to review one of your gift packs that included the body stick, lotion, and delicious soaps. I wanted to thank you for your products - I whole-heartily love them ALL and I LOVE supporting your noble cause to help the women of Kenya. In particular, I LOVED the Basa Body Stick. It's truly an amazing product that has done wonders for my dry, cracked skin! I've tried lots of expensive lotions and foot creams, but this is the ONLY product that has worked! I will be ordering more! I'm permanently hooked on the Basa Body Stick, so you'll be hearing from me again” -Elizabeth Donovan, M.A. Founder, ParentingPink.com "Raising strong girls together."

"I just received my order last night -- I am hooked! I love the way the product smells and how it feels! The Body Lotion is wonderful -- I hope to be able to use it for a long, long time! Thank you for a wonderful, NATURAL product!!! God bless the families in Kenya!" -Diana B. Norman, IL

“I wanted to thank you for the wonderful lotion.  It has been a blessing for me to be able to use Basa Body Lotion since I have allergies to the ingredients in every other lotion on the market.  In our dry climate, it has been wonderful to be able to treat my irritated skin with a product that is TRULY hypo-allergenic, paraben free, and that smells good too!  Thanks again for the awesome Basa Body Lotion.”
-Valerie P. Orem, UT

I recently received the Basa Body Natural Cocounit Oil Body Lotion and the Basa Body Stick. The Body Lotion is very rich in a white cream that glides on the skin. This worked well after a shower and throughout the day, especially before a workout at the gym on my knees and elbows that are dry with cracked skin. The scent is a mild coconut that is not overpowering, a nice subtle notice that lingers for awhile. My arms have scratch marks from when I scratch in my sleep. They are itchy at various times of the day and night. The Basa Body Stick took away the itch with one swipe on my arm. I realized a few hours later that my arm was healing nicely and not red and oozy. I highly recommend these products for aging and itchy skin types.

"I am telling a lot of people about your great products. I've give several of the lotions to members of my family--especially our 15 year old granddaughter that has eczema. Her hands even bleed sometimes in the dry winter we have here. For her it's been a miracle. She can't use anything that has any alcohol, and it's nearly impossible to find that even in really expensive creams. Thanks again."

"Honestly, that cherry-chocolate soap you make is literally the greatest smelling thing I have ever encountered in my life. I can't stop telling people about it. I don't even want to use it because I don't want to waste it...it's so good. Really a brilliant fragrance!!"
-Sasha L.

The first thing I wanted to do when I opened the Kiss Me Gift Pack was take a huge bite from the mint chocolate soap, it smelled that good! Plus it came in a cute candy-like paper wrapper, so can you blame me? I tried every product except the cherry chocolate soap (not a cherry fan) and the Basa Body Stick was by far my favorite. For an oil-based stick, it absorbed really quickly and moisturized so well! I put it in my daughter's upper arms where she suffers from dry skin and it immediately remedied the problem. Her arms (and my hands) stayed moisturized for hours! You can actually use it to treat skin irritated by eczema or psoriasis. Plus the natural antibiotic, anti-fungal properties of the coconut oil make it great for diaper rash. By the way, Basa purchases all their coconut oil from Kenya and also donates 10% of their profits to projects in Kenya to fight poverty. How can you not love Basa Body?

"Basa Body offers a number of great products. Their flagship product is their Basa Body Lotion, made from all natural virgin coconut oil, which smells amazing and is great for the skin. However, it is their soaps that really make you take notice. Recently, I purchased the Kiss Me pack even before I opened the box, my nose was filled with the invigorating scent of mint. Once I got it out of the package, the chocolate mint soap simultaneously made me hungry and made me want to take a shower. While not as strong, the smell of the cherry soap I received had a very nice floral aroma that was sweet and reminded me of spring when flowers first start to bloom. It is definitely the type of gift that makes you want to run and get muddy so you have an excuse to get clean and smell good. It is a purchase you can feel good about."

"The honest truth is that I cannot say enough wonderful things about the delightful Basa Body Products I received. The Basa Body Coconut Oil lotion made all of my cares disappear. It is soft, creamy, and has helped my chapped skin immensely. The Cherry Chocolate and Mint Truffle Soaps smell good enough to eat and wow - did my husband love the smell (yes, those things matter when reviewing a product - trust me)! And the The Basa Body Stick has tremendously helped heal my dry, cracked skin on my feet. And yes, I saved the best for last -you can get ALL of these great, sensual products in the Basa Kiss Me Gift pack - on sale now - so hurry on over and make your body and your significant other VERY happy!"

"I've been using the coconut lotion for 3 years and wouldn't think of not having it. Every night before I go to bed I, actually, rub straight coconut oil on my face and neck. Then I put the lotion over that. I think as a night cream this works so well. My face feels like velvet. Then I use the lotion in the morning. I have a bottle upstairs and downstairs as I need it all the time for my hands. I find that when you put it on it feels like a lotion should but after about 5 minutes it sinks right in and there's no greasy coating. It keeps finger tips moistened in the winter time. When I used to work at a dental lab there was a problem with handling the plaster molds. They would suck all the moisture out of your hands. I introduced it into the lab and it was a life saver as it would prevent dry bleeding skin.

I also love the oil purchased from Coast Coconut farms for cooking. Our family favorite is to put it on top of pancakes and pour some syrup over that. It's out of this world! Try putting them in brownies also.....yummy!"

"What a wonderful product. Even better, what a great cause!"

I have one of those itchy spots on my hand. Otherwise known as eczema. So when I saw the Basa stick healing balm, I wondered if it could help. Once applying it, it gave me instant relief. Ive never had a product work so fast for me. The redness looks to be gone too. Instead of a mediciny fragrance, I have a wonderful coconut fragrance!

I love to encounter companies that not only sell wonderful products but who use their platform and proceeds for a good cause. It's so important that when one finds success they remember to use it in order to do good for others as well as for themselves. No matter how you are doing in life you can always find a way to help someone else who needs it. The story behind Basa Body products is one that really needs to be heard. It's a company full of love and selflessness and I hope I can spread the word about it to as many people as I can. As soon as I opened the box the most delicious scent hit my nose. Its the perfect combination of a tropical and natural scent, and ladies you will love it. I first tried out the Basa Body stick, which is a natural coconut oil healing balm. Living in the desert my skin gets so dry and so I used it on my feet. Already they are becoming so smooth and soft so quickly. I also used it on this rash I've had on my arms for the past month now. Nothing would work before, not even hydro-cortisone, but I put the balm on it and it hasn't itched since! It can also be used to sooth irritated skin as well as diaper rash and chaffing! I know all the moms will agree with me that I love the idea of using something this natural on my daughter's skin. The Cherry Chocolate & Mint Truffle soap smelled so good I could literally eat it. It's really like nothing I've smelled before and I love having a scent follow me around that not many are familiar with. It's nice to be different of course ;). Lastly, I tried the Natural Coconut Oil Lotion, which is free from parabens, artificial colors, and preservatives. My skin is sensitive so using something without harsh chemicals is important to me. This also smelled absolutely incredible in combination with the soap. Each of my girlfriends and relatives will have to expect that all future gifts will be from Basa Body from now on!

Oh my gosh I am soooo loving the stick on my little girls terribly dry hands, she gets red sore bumps and sores on them all winter, and for several nights now we've rubbed the stick on her hands and used socks to cover them up.. LIKE A MIRACLE!! LOVING it!
Carissa

“Oh wow! I can't say enough about this product. It is Absolutely Delicious. I can't stop touching my skin it feels so good. :) It also made me feel good inside to help feed a family in Kenya. I have found my new favorite gift for all my girls. I will definitely be a frequent customer!”
-Shelsee Kirk, Mortgage Consultant

“I love the way Basa Body Lotion absorbs quickly into my skin without feeling greasy, and stays there all day. I like the fact that the ingredients list is kept to a minimum with nothing artificial added.  It makes this product truly hypo-allergenic, unlike many products which claim this but do not deliver.  Most of all, I am happy to use this product because it feels good knowing that I am helping women entrepreneurs who are producing the coconut oil in Kenya to become self-reliant.  This is the best lotion I have ever used--it has become a must have in my home.”
-Lisa P. Provo, UT

My name is Robert Okumu and I have a good report about the cold pressed coconut virgin oil. In 2007 a friend who used the oil to heal an eczema condition she suffered from advised my wife and I to try using the coconut oil on our twin girls who had been suffering from a skin condition. The oil worked a miracle as the skin condition cleared in 24 hours. Ever since we constantly have the oil in our household.

When I saw the soaps and smelled them (Mint Chocolate and Cherry Chocolate Truffle Soaps) I was upset at first because I am allergic to everything. But I read that everything was made of organic, virgin coconut oil and combined with the finest olive, palm, and peppermint essential oils, together with moisturizing cocoa butter. I gave it a try. And I was fine. Better than fine. I was in my glory!

When my little box showed up, I found myself wanting to eat it, not wash with it! That soap smells SO good, you won't even believe it. Mint Chocolate Truffle Soap....mmm-mmm-mmm! I had to keep it away from my boy and Hubby said he couldn't wait for me to wash with it! (naughty, naughty). I have to admit, I am not crazy about coconut. The smell, the taste - just not my thing. However, this stuff has such a mild smell and really does smell good. There was also a Basa Body Stick with natural coconut oil healing balm. I tried it first. It is wonderful! The coconut melts into your skin "like butta". It isn't greasy or heavy, it makes you skin soft and it smells very light. I love it I keep it next to my side of the bed...I need more, much more! It took me longer to try the soap. I was enjoying the smell, in general, and I was a little nervous about smelling like Mint Chocolate Truffle! It has a wonderful lather and it felt really good on my skin. The bubbles were a really dark brown, which I didn't like as much, but still it was great. My skin felt very soft and clean without feeling dry or oily. I thought the fragrance was good, not over powering or too sweet. I asked hubby what I smelled like after my shower and he said I smelled "light and flowery" but couldn't tell exactly what it was. That's good, I think. I want to smell good, but not overwhelmingly - something, you know? I figure I had better buy more now before everyone finds out how great it is and the price goes up.

I have to tell you that these products are fabulous. When I opened the box the other night there was a fabulous scent of mint wafting through the room in seconds. Jay came running over and quickly claimed the Mint Truffle Soap as his own, but I managed to latch onto the other products before they were taken too. The soaps are just divine and so absolutely luxurious. Perfect for a soak in the tub. The Natural Coconut Oil Lotion feels wonderful on, it is not greasy and leaves the faintest scent that makes you feel and smell fresh. As for the Basa Body Stick, I cannot say enough wonderful things about it, except that I have thrown out the emery board I was using on my elbows, heels and knees

My hands have been drying out lately and I just glided this very soothing smooth balm over the areas of cracked skin and they have never felt softer! If you have any sort of skin irritation caused by dry skin, chaffing, itching, eczema, psoriasis, even diaper rash I highly recommend trying the Basa Body stick. Since coconut oil is an all natural anti-biotic and anti-fungal it simply works wonders for healing skin irritation all while bringing out the smoothness that your babies' bottom had upon birth! The soap is very moisturizing, with a powerful soothing scent, this is one soap you will want to keep in your shower! Again made with the organic virgin coconut oil.

What I love most about these products- not only did they feel good when I used the Natural Coconut Oil Lotion, Basa Body Stick and the Mint Truffle Soap, they are made up organic virgin coconut oil, so there aren't unnecessary chemicals that are harsh to your skin. The Natural Coconut Oil (100%) Lotion soothes the skin once it is applied. I felt the lotion absorb into my skin. It also smells great. The Coconut Oil in the lotion fights aging with natural antioxidants. Imagine my surprise when I smelled a scent of chocolate as I opened the package. What I saw was a Mint Truffle Soap! Being a chocoholic, I thought this was one of the most unique products I have ever seen. Not only does the soap moisturize the skin, your senses get stimulated. Very refreshing.

Sometime ago I threw out all my body lotion. Nothing was working for me and I was tired of trying to smell like something juiced up in a chemical production warehouse. I went to my nearest health foods store and bought myself a large jar of %100 coconut oil. White, slick with the natural smell of Polynesia. It was a dream come true for me, my skin glistened,as I listened,to compliments pouring in. Not that I do things for straight up compliments but who doesn't?

It was also worry free, when The Chief inevitably discovered the jar and started to swallow the contents I knew it was perfectly safe--if not healthy--for his palm-full of coconut oil to slide down his digestive track.

Last week my Aunt Liz stopped by with a new solution called Basa Body. It is a product of the women of Kenya and coconut trees. Together, they make products rich in coconut oil. I was given a package of treats including Basa Body lotion, Basa Body stick and some truffle soaps. I am not usually a passionista of bathing products (mostly because I prefer cw's homemade soaps to just about anything) but I had a testimony of coconut oil. I knew my body would love this stuff.

As a side note, my Aunt Liz is one of my idols and whatever she does, I do unquestionably. She's one of those maverick women who'd you find in dusty saloons in an old western. Beautiful, strong, soft and clever. And some more beautiful, brave and raised a pack of five boys while keeping up her blond. I wish I had a photograph.

I really believe in Basa Body. The lotion has a creamy consistency which layers on my skin with a quick dissolve. I took the stick on my trip to NYC and used it as a facial moisturizer--the stick is compact for travel but powerful as a full day moisturizer. On Sunday I let The Chief wash up with one of the truffle soaps and rested easily when he started to eat the fine smelling bar. No chemicals, all natural treat in the tub. Just ask The Chief who eats anything with form and function (which doesn't exactly explain his obsession with Pirate's Booty). As a statement I say: I whole-heartedly blog about Basa Body today.

Basa Body was created to help the mothers of Kenya be successful at providing for their children. The project was stimulated by my other amazing family, The Popes who are genuinely the most generous (and quirky) people around. Today, I join with my cousin Jayne and sister Stephanie in making the world more aware of Basa Body--its spirit and soul.

I'm pretty low-key when it comes to beautification. I wear mascara, but I've never really known how to put on any other kind of make-up. And last week I had a partial unibrow because my kids lost my tweezers and I couldn't remember to buy new ones at the store. So, when my aunt Liz called and asked if I would be interested in trying out a few products from the company she works for, I was intrigued. She dropped them off later that day.

It turned out to be Basa Body lotion, soap and an awesome moisture bar. That was super news--I know how to use all of those things--and commonly do! But this lotion is different. The story drew me in first. A few weeks ago, my aunt Chriss and her husband Louis asked my dad, a general contractor, and my mom to fly over to Kenya to help with a facility they are building to house some of their charitable operations. I knew they had been doing some charity work in Africa, but I never fully understood what it was. I still don't--but the lotion helped put some of the pieces together.

The idea of helping women take care of their families by using skills and resources they already have is fantastic. And it is awesome lotion. Really. After putting it on, I sort of find myself sniffing my hands all day, because it smells so much like real coconuts.

My parents are in Kenya right now. Jed's parents are on a mission in South Africa and have traveled to many countries all over the continent. The feeling I get from these parents is that these are good, hard-working people in Africa that truly struggle to provide for themselves and their families. My mother-in-law buys things from all kinds of vendors to help in their efforts.

I love the lotion. I seriously do. I use it more than I've ever used any particular lotion. And the moisture stick is heavenly for dry heels and elbows. I've only used one of my soaps so far--but it smells like mint truffle--and who cares if you have a unibrow if you smell like mint truffle?

So forget Bath and Body works this Christmas, and give someone some awesome products from Basa Body. By doing so, you'll be helping African women take care of their families and smelling like a tropical paradise or Sees candy shop. Could there be a better combination?

Jayne
